On Saturday, May 26th the organisers of the Calcutta Run, the Law Society of Ireland, saw its 20th race take place at Blackhall Place, Dublin 7.
Greeted by sunshine, the over 1000+ runners and 100+ cyclists had perfect conditions for the event. After a motivational talk by MC Gavin Duffy and warm up by the ladies from ICONIC Health Clubs, our team joined the rest of the participants.
Our 5km team included; Joey (0:25:05), Martin (0:25:24), Ailbhe (0:25:46), Daniel (0:29:18), Shauna (0:31:48), Sarah (0:32:50) and Susan (0:37:12). Our 10km team included; Derek (0:46:21), Alan (0:46:26) and Noel (0:48:54). Well done Team Panel for putting in such a great effort!
2018 saw the first Calcutta Run in Cork, with over 120 participants registered. This year the Calcutta Run also offered the opportunity for cyclists to join in on a 50km or 100km cycle.
The Calcutta Run is fundraising for two very worthy charities; the Peter McVerry Trust and The Hope Foundation.
We would like to congratulate the organisers from the Law Society of Ireland, and especially the event manager Hilary Kavanagh for putting on another excellent event.
Our photographer on the day was Mal Convery, thank you!
